What To Do In Brewster
Point Of Rocks Beach

This guide to what to do in Brewster would not be complete without a mention of one of the many stunning beaches in the area. If I am being honest I thought about gate keeping the Point of Rocks Beach. This beach is a hidden gem and a local secret, but it is too beautiful not to share with you. The Beach offers calm waters with rocks that jut out making for stunning views. There is also a lack of seaweed - which is rare for The Cape.
Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters
Snowy Owl is my favorite coffee shop in all of New England (this is a big claim because I have been to a ton). You will find Snowy Owl locations in Brewster, Chatham, and Sandwich. My favorite one is the Brewster location because of the indoor outdoor seating and cool herbal shop in the back. At Snowy Owl you can find fresh pastries, amazing coffee, empanadas, cool vibes, and more.
Cape Cod Rail Trail
The Cape Cod Rail Trail is a 25 mile trail that runs from South Dennis to Wellfleet and right through Brewster. Rent a bike and zip down the rail trail for views of ponds, lakes, and the forest. You can spot all sorts of wildlife and take a dip in one of the lagoons along the way on the Cape Cod Rail Trail.
The Brewster Store

The Brewster Store is probably one of the coolest shops on the Cape. You can find everything from wallpaper to sandwiches at this huge two story store. You could spend hours wandering down the isles and looking at the random items. There is also an ice cream parlor right next to The Brewster Store.
Cape Cod Lavender Farm
The Cape Cod Lavender Farm is technanly located in Harwich, but it is on the Brewster / Harwich line. At The Cape Cod Lavender Farm you can see a gorgeous field of lavender, buy lavender products at the gift shop, and marvel at the fairy garden. To get to the Cape Cod Lavender Farm you must drive through the woods on a gravel path - which is super cool!
Sheep Pond

The Cape isn't just the Ocean, ponds and lakes are all over the Cape (most are in Brewster). If you are like me and are terrified of sharks, Sheep Pond is for you. You can rent a bike and follow the Cape Rail Trail until you get to Sheep Pond. There are typically kayaks or stand up paddle boards lying around you can use too. Some other great ponds in Brewster include Flax Pond and Uppermill Pond.

The Stony Brook Grist Mill is a museum situated in the western part of Brewster. This 19th century gristmill is one of the last remaining structures of colonial Brewster. This place if perfect if you are interesting in the early life in the United States and how people lived. The mill is open every Saturday in the summer and offers free admission. You will have to opportunity to turn the mill, buy freshly ground cornmeal, and see artifacts from Cape Cod in the 19th century at the Stony Brook Grist Mill.

You really need a car on Cape Cod. There is no form of public transportation once you are on the Cape. If you just need to get down to cape without a car you can take the bus from Logan Airport or South Station. Tickets are usually are around $20. I have used the Peter Pan Bus Line or the Plymouth and Brockton Bus Line.
When To Visit Brewster
The summer is the best time to visit the Cape. The weather is sunny and warm and the Cape is full of life. It is, however, the most expensive time of year to visit. Early fall is when you will get good prices and the weather will still be nice. In winter a lot of shops shut down for the season and the weather is not great. I do love the Cape in the winter though - it is quite and peaceful. There is not much of a spring in New England.
