Cafe de Garagem is one of the most unique coffee shops I have ever been to. Situated on top of São Jorge Hill in the Alfama District. Palácio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel

1908 Lisbon Hotel

The 1908 Lisboa Hotel is a stylish boutique stay in the heart of Lisbon with just 36 rooms and consistently five-star reviews. Portugal is known as one of the most affordable countries in Western Europe, and this hotel proves it - you get luxury amenities like spacious rooms, an in-house restaurant, bar, and room service for much less than in cities like London. (Think around $200 a night here versus $300 there.) For travelers with a mid-range budget, it’s an excellent choice that blends design, comfort, and value.

Pestana Palace Lisboa Hotel & National Monument

The Pestana Palace Lisboa Hotel & National Monument is one of Lisbon’s most iconic stays. Set inside a restored 19th-century palace, it perfectly blends history and elegance, and its location makes it easy to explore the city’s highlights. Each room is beautifully furnished in classic 19th-century style and offers plenty of space to unwind. If you are looking for a historic and unique hotel in Lisbon - this is it!

Palácio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel

I didn’t get the chance to stay at the Palácio Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel during my time in Lisbon, but from my research, it’s easily one of the most dreamy places to stay in the city. Originally built in the 18th century by João Frederico Ludovice, this elegant hotel describes itself as “a place where history meets luxury… around a glass of wine,” and it truly lives up to that.

Even if you’re not staying here, it’s worth stopping by for dinner at the Federico Restaurant, which is known for its refined atmosphere and exceptional food. Guests can also enjoy a spa, gym, breakfast service, bar, and, of course, an amazing selection of Portuguese wines.

Berardo - Museu Art Déco

Tucked away in the Alcântara district, the Berardo Museum of Art Deco (B-MAD) feels like one of Lisbon’s best-kept secrets. Stepping inside is like walking into another time - a world of polished wood, curved glass, and elegant craftsmanship that defined early 20th-century design. The museum’s rooms are calm and light-filled, each piece displayed as though it’s part of a story about creativity and beauty. From sleek Art Déco furniture to delicate Art Nouveau details, everything here feels intentional and refined. What I loved most was how quiet it was - a peaceful contrast to Lisbon’s busy streets outside. It’s the kind of place that invites you to slow down, notice textures and light, and appreciate the artistry behind everyday objects. If you love design, history, or simply discovering beautiful spaces that most travelers miss, B-MAD is a hidden gem worth adding to your Lisbon list.
