Day One - Arrive In Miami

The best city to fly into for your Florida road trip is Miami. Miami is located in the southeast of Florida and is known for its beautiful beaches and Cuban influence. When I visit Miami I always feel like I am in a ritzy South American city rather than in the US because of the language, authentic restaurants, and overall way of life. Miami is truly such a unique city that everyone should visit if they are wishing to get the whole Florida experience.
Best Neighborhoods & Hotels In Miami
There are a few cool spots to stay in Miami for the night. If you want to be by the beach and enjoy that cool Florida vibe stay on South Beach. South Beach is expensive, but it is worth it - the beach is amazing and it is full of unique shopping and hotels.
For a little hidden gem opt for Coral Gables or Coconut Grove - these two neighborhoods right next to each other are my favorite places to stay while I'm in Miami. They are the oldest neighborhoods in Miami and have that cool old Florida vibe to them. There is also so many unique and cool things to do in this area. You can read more on this guide to Coral Gables.
Day Two - Drive From Miami To Delray Beach

From Miami, drive north to the stunning town of Delray Beach. Delray Beach is located an hour up the coast from Miami. The charming town is home to a beautiful beach, unique shopping, a cool art scene, and is heaven for foodies.
I spent a month in Delray Beach and jotted down all of the very best things to do, places to dine, and more in this Delray Beach travel guide. Spend the night in Delray! In the morning be sure to stop by TwoFatBrEGGfast - I miss this place all the time.
Best Neighborhood & Hotel In Delray Beach
In terms of the best area to stay in Delray Beach - that's easy. Stay by the beach at the end of Atlantic Ave. If you are on a budget another lovely area that is a bit more affordable is Pineapple Grove (within walking distance to the beach).
Day Three - Delray Beach To Jupiter (with a short stop in Palm Beach)

On day three drive north again! Just forty minutes north is a little hidden gem - Jupiter. This place is so beautiful and off the beaten path. Jupiter home to some of the most gorgeous beaches and wildlife in Florida, along with a touch of history. I visited Jupiter a few times during my time on Florida's east coast. I wrote down all of the coolest beaches, eatires, and nature preserves in this Jupiter, Florida Travel Guide.
On your way to Jupiter make a stop in Palm Beach. Palm Beach, may be the wealthiest area I have ever been. The shops on Worth Ave are full of designer boutiques and beautiful hidden walkways - truly a treat to explore. The beach just off of Worth Ave is gorgeous too! Read about all of my Palm Beach recs in my Palm Beach Travel Guide.
Best Neighborhood & Hotel In Jupiter
Jupiter is tiny - like I said, really a secret spot. So, the best, and one of the only hotels in Jupiter is The Jupiter Beach Resort. If you would rather stay in Palm Beach, the best area to stay in is definitely Palm Beach Island.
Day Four - Drive From Jupiter To Fort Myers

On day four drive west across Florida. While Florida is a massive state, the drive across it is unexpectedly short (only about 2.5 hours). Fort Myers is your next stop. Fort Myers has that old Florida vibe, you know laid-back, vintage, rustic charm, and a bit of local history. Fort Myers is totally underrated - for all of my tips, things to do, tours to take, and places to dine check out my Fort Myers Travel Guide here.
Best Neighborhoods & Hotels In Fort Myers
There are a few beautiful neighborhoods in the Fort Myers area. If you are looking for an off the beaten path beach scene checkout Sanibel Island. If you want something a bit more mainstream and closer to the highway stay on Fort Myers Beach (there are tons of amazing hotels and resorts to choose from here).
Day Five - Fort Myers To Naples

About 50 minutes south of Fort Myers is Naples. When you think of Naples you probably think of retirees and old people. While, yes, there are plenty of seniors in the small city, Naples is full of fun and unique things to do. You will find charming streets, weekly farmers markets, luscious botanical gardens, and beautiful beaches Naples. So it is safe to say Naples is a must stop on your Florida road trip.
Best Neighborhoods & Hotels In Naples
If you are looking for a beachside stay in Naples, checkout the Vanderbilt Beach area in North Naples - you will find plenty of amazing hotels (like the Ritz Carlton). If you want more of a city stay look into the Old Naples area (which is just downtown Naples).
Day Six - Naples To Miami

On day six drive back to Miami (2 hours). This way to can explore a bit more of Miami and be rested for your flight out the next day. If you are in need of cool things to do in Miami checkout The Venetian Pool and Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.
Day Seven - Depart Miami
Day Seven is for departure!
