Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is a boutique hotel in the lively city of New Orleans. The four star hotel is full of unique art and splendid design choices throughout the property. In this Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery Review we will go over the pros and cons of this New Orleans hotel.

This post is all about your Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery Review

The Rooms

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

What we loved: The design was honestly so cool in the rooms. We stayed in the most basic room offered. This room was equipped with a desk, a queen sized bed with two reading lights, a welcome basket with drinks & snacks, a full bathroom with a waterfall shower, and a dresser. All of this was perfect. We also loved the little design details in the rooms. Some things that stood out to us was the retro door to the bathroom, the old radio, and the wall art.

What we didn't like - Our room was situated on the ground floor of the hotel. So the window didn't open up to anything (just like a wall). It also smelt of cigarettes. With this said, the rooms on the floors above are much nicer. So if you decide to stay here make sure you book a room on a higher floor.

Service

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

We have no complaints from the service side of things at The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery. When I told an employee about my concerns she check to see if she could switch us and also gave us a coupon for free coffees in the morning. When it was raining they gave up umbrellas to use.

Facilities

At Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery you will find a gym, a bar, a restaurant, a coffee bar, and twenty four hour front desk service. There is no pool or spa. The restaurant is super cool, it is a bit pricey through. The gym is tiny, but it will do the job.

Food & Drink

We didn't get the opportunity to eat at the restaurant, Compère Lapin. Based on the way it looked and reviews we could guess that it was pretty good. Compère Lapin serves up traditional French food with a contemporary twist.

We did try the coffee bar and it was so good! If you are a fellow coffee fanatic you will love this place. They also serve small pastries and frittatas.

Neighborhood

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery is located in the arts and warehouse district. This is a quite area of New Orleans, but still not far away from the main attractions. It is right by the stunning magazine street and within walking distance of the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and Jackson Square. You may think now that you want to be in the center of the city, but NOLA is loud and smelly in the more popular areas. I thought that the location of the Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery was perfect!

Where To Book

Booking.com and Expedia are the best places to book because they have to follow certain policies that the actually hotel doesn't. So if there is a change in you plan it is easier to cancel and get a refund.
