Boston, Massachusetts is home to some best universities and coffee shops in the world. Growing up in Boston one of my favorite things to do was go to a coffee shop and read a book or study. The coffee shops in Boston are cozy and perfect for a study session. I have been to practically all of them these are my favorites, especially for studying. Read on to discover the very best coffee shops in Boston to study in.

This post is all about the best coffee shops in Boston to study in.
Tatte
Ahhh my all time favorite coffee and breakfast joint in Boston. Tatte (like Latte) serves up insanely good coffee, pastries, and breakfast. Tatte has a modern feel to it. It is not as cozy as other coffee shops in Boston, but it is still a great place to study and enjoy some java.
With locations in Assembly Row, Arlington, Back Bay, Beacon Hill, Belmont, Berklee, Charlestown, Emerson, Fenway, High Street, Newton Centre, Northeastern, One Boston Place, Pier 4, South Boston, South end, Summer Street, Wellesley, Main Street Cambridge, Cambridge Crossing, Harvard Square, Third Street, Coolidge Corner, and Beacon Street you will have no excuse to not try this coffee.
My favorite location is in Harvard Square. This Tatte location is huge and has plenty of seating, so you will be able to find space for studying or working. It is right next to Harvard University so this location is full of students studying and a professors chatting about the next groundbreaking science discovery (I assume).
My favorite things to get at Tatte are the Tatte Latte, which is a latte made with cardamom and oat milk, the monkey bread, and the croissant egg sandwich. Although these are my favorites you could order anything off the menu and it will be delicious.
The Thinking Cup

The Thinking Cup, located on Newbury Street, is a lovely place for a study session or a break from shopping. The dimly lit cafe is a perfect haven from the cold weather in the winter and offers a warm and cozy spot to sip some coffee. The coffee is pretty good, but not as good as some of the other cafes in Boston.
I love grabbing a hot tea or coffee from the Thinking cup and strolling around the near-by Boston Common or reading a book in the park. The Thinking Cup is a great place to go in the afternoon. I love getting one of their soups and tea and studying.
Blue Bottle

I know, Blue Bottle isn't specific to Boston, but the coffee is so good that anytime you are near one you should take advantage of it.
Blue Bottle has locations in the Seaport and on Newbury Street. If you are looking to study I would recommend going to the Newbury street location because it has more seating available than the Seaport location. For my fellow Soulcyclers checkout the Seaport location as there is a Soulcycle right next to the Blue Bottle. The ultimate serotonin boast is doing a SoulCycle class then grabbing an insanely good coffee at Blue Bottle.
I always opt for the sweet latte with oat milk, but I have heard good things about the cold brew too. Make sure to try the Belgium waffle, it will blow your mind.
Gracenote Coffee

Gracenote Coffee is a small unique espresso bar located on High Street and Lincoln Street. I love Gracenote because the coffee is so good. The beans are roasted perfectly and the environment is stylish. The only problem with Gracenote Coffee is the lack of seating. You may have trouble finding a space to study or work.
You can order Gracenote Coffee online if you like to enjoy your coffee at home.
George Howell Coffee
George Howell serves top notch coffee that is perfectly roasted. With beans from South America, Central America and Yemen, George Howell coffee house has locations all around Boston. George Howell coffee is a great place to sit down and study, you can also enjoy a lovely pastry at George Howell.
